*sigh*
I promise that we will soon move on from this subject but it's the biggest thing going on in our lives right now. How exciting is that? Ah, the life of a parent. As I have said many times before, this is a dreaded subject for me. Thank goodness Kayden has been amazing with the potty traning, I'm almost in shock that it is going this smoothly and happening so quickly. To our dismay, we have searched high and low for a good potty with a guard that will withstand the aim of a little boy. However, to no avail and on a budget we have found none that will work. So far we have taken two back to the store; well, we plan to anyway. I've heard good things about the $2 Ikea potty but with no transportation or the movtivation to make that trek down to Atlanta on the weekends, we haven't gone that route. However, Jon, with all his creativity, found our solution and it works quite nicely. Instead of putting Kayden on the porcelin throne the traditional way, he sat him on it backwards. Amazing. Why didn't I think of that before? This way, Kayden has PLENTY of room to aim AND it has helped him to watch what he is doing. I guess it is helping him make the connection of what happens when he "let's go" and he is very pleased with himself as he watches his accomplishment take place. Jon also put Cheerios in the water for motivation and that seemed to do the trick. He is improving every day and just about has the pee pee's down. Instead of sitting on the pot for 20 minutes at a time, he gets up there and gets his buisness done. Now we are just working on #2. I'm still not pushing and TRYING NOT to get frustrated with him and so far, whatever we are doing is getting it done. Phew...thank goodness.
