Okay, so MOST of you follow me on facebook and will know the recent submission that recently took place as I took the plunge to read the first novel of the Twilight series after watching the movie (7 times now). It's pretty ridiculous actually. The question though is, why? Why is this Vampire love story so fascinating? What is it about Edward that draws you near? It's almost as if I become part of the story, watching it in the background, wondering, what would it be like to be Bella Swan? Almost envious to be in her shoes at the moment that Edward glances her direction with his crooked smile and gentle topaz eyes, or rescues her time and time again, or the feeling of security that Bella declares when she is with him. For so long, I pitied those poor souls who were captivated by this huge craze, drawn into this enslavement; yet, I wonder, where did I go wrong and when did I become a part of this Vampire love addiction?
It's absolutely insane and it is unlawful to write such an intriguing story. I didn't believe it. I didn't get it until I caved and am now part of the Twilight world. Thank you Stephanie Meyer, for adding one more distraction into my life. I have to admit though, it is nice to engage myself into a secret world no one around me knows about and to dismiss reality.
It is now 12:40 a.m. and I fear I won't be able to sleep until I read at least one more chapter. And folks, this is the FIRST book that has entrapped me and held my attention long enough to get through half of it since I started reading chapter books. Yeah, apparently it's THAT good.
Involuntary Confession: I was up till 2:30 a.m. READING! Holy crap it got good and I couldn't stop. Even my eyes refused the heaviness that is familiar with late night reading and, eventually, I knew I had to force myself to stop. I hit the sack at 2:45 a.m. knowing how tired I would be when the kids roused early. Another sigh for the hopelessly infatuated, Twilight smitten fan.

haha...you're hillarious!
Although it sounds intriguing, I'm still holding strong! Twilight, Shmwilight!
Oh no, you will crack and I'm going to force it on you like it was on me. There is no escaping the inevitable!
i'm so happy you've been sucked in!! :) they only get better! i'm reading the fourth one for the third time. ;) keep me posted on how you like them. (you still have my "enchanted" movie right? i need to get that back from you soon.)
Yay! Another twilighter!!!! I read all 4 books and yes, I am hooked. Stephenie Meyer was going to write a 5th book on Edwards view of the first book but someone leaked the first few chapters and she stopped because she didnt want anyone to know about it yet!
....and I agree, the movie was pretty CHEESY! If only they put more dialogue from bella's thoughts, it would have been soo much better!
I was embarrassed for months and months to admit that I liked...ok loved the twilight series. They're a great escape for all of us - aren't they? My husband is from Portland Oregon and I got to see where they filmed a lot of the movie and it's fun to really imagine them all running through those mossy forests. I have to say, though, having read the books first I wasn't a huge fan of the movie. I hope they do a good job with New Moon...
Yeah disappointment in the movie. You guys are hilarious...total twilght weirdos. These characters...they are highschool age? How old is everyone here reading? haha! Yeah I'll read the books someday but doubt I'll get into the actual craze about it. I'm sure they are just another good series to read for fun.
Too funny! Yes, Jamie will get sucked in...everybody does! I think we are all so infatuated because what girl doesn't want somebody to long for her as much as Edward longs for Bella, especially in high school! It's just so out of this world that we can't get enough of it, especially us married women who miss that excitement before we got "tied down". Admit it...I'm right! There's just something about it that we all secretly long for! The grass is always greener on the other side! Don't get me wrong...I love my life now, but it's just nice to be reminded of what we "daydreamed" life could've been before settling down. Okay, sorry, I'm off my soapbox now :)
Haha, Twilight is a good subject for debate and discussion. Jamie, I was as anti-Twilight as they come, but I cracked under pressure and there is no going back. I'm NOT in any regret and enjoy to "daydream" as Tanya described. Just watch the movie 2-3 more times before borrowing/buying the 1st book so you can familiarize yourself with all the characters. You won't be sorry!!! The books are so interesting because it answers a lot of questions that aren't in the movie. ie: How Carlisle became a vampire and what made him want to be a good vampire opposed from the bad.
ah, so they go into detail about carlisle in the books...cool! Yeah I bet there is a lot more info that I could use from the books. So I do have the book with a chess piece on the front; bought it because it was only $2!!! (hardcover) Haven't started it yet because I was told that isn't the first book.
