Meet Venna

A beautiful mother of 7 children, including my mother, who always said she would rather eat bread and drink water to be home with her children than to work and lead a lavish life. A woman who always smiles and is not quick to anger, no matter what life has thrown her way.

A woman who served many others over the years, is kind and considerate to all. She loves to watch children as they play and learn of the world around them.

Her hands have worked her whole life tending to her 7 children, holding their hand in hers and protecting them from harm. Hands that have spent tending and caring for her garden and plants that she loved.

Eyes that have seen almost a century of changes. Eyes that are gentle and caring and provided reassurance and comfort to many over the years.

Though her feet are now tired, they have walked many miles and taken her throughout her life. Though they have grown weary, she still gets up each morning independent and strong on her own two feet.

She has experience 92 years of life, the good and the bad. She has many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren that have brought her joy. We don't know how much longer we will get to have her in our lives until Heavenly Father decides it's time for her to go home; but, I do know that her life has served many purposes and that Heavenly Father will gladly welcome her and say, "job well done." We love you Grandma!!

that was a beautiful post, nessa! i'm so glad you got the opportunity to do that photo shoot with her. it makes me think of my grandmothers and wish i could see them again.(even though one of them is still alive...she lives in utah, so i hardly get to see her anymore and don't know if i ever will again alive) cherish the time you have. :D and the talent you're developing that make moments like that possible. :D

Thank you, thank you Vanessa! This will be priceless in years to come and to all her posterity. We all know that so many more truths could be spoken of our sweet mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. She has certainly been a great blessing and example to all who have had the privilege of having her in their lives. What a sweet post and lovely tribute to one of Heavenly Father's most faithful and choice spirits. A true woman of GOD! WE ALL LOVE YOU MAMA and are glad you are still with us at 92 years young. (on September ll, 2009--DOB September ll, 1917)Your example of faith, patience, love, kindness, tolerance, endurance, perseverance, work, (and so many others that would take so long to list) has been a great legacy for all who will follow in your footsteps. You are a true example as spoken of in Proverbs, Chapter 31:10-31. "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies"... What a wonderful blessing to have in our lives.
