Home Improvement #2

We FINALLY painted the front room, hallway, and foyer and at a very reasonable price considering the materials and labor for the amount of square footage that was invovlved as well as the high, 12-16 ft. ceilings and opting for two-tone walls. I realized that I hadn't taken a before picture untill we had already moved just about all the furniture out of the room. I decided to keep the two tone concept going to keep contrast but have a soft, flowing, look and feel to it. I was so hesitant of the colors but after picking them 3 times on 3 seperate occasions, I decided these were the colors and I didn't look back. I'm terrible with change and for the most part I like the finished product so I'm learning to trust my instinct when choosing colors.

John, our painter for the "big" stuff from here on out, and his wife, Trudy, were wonderful, fun people! Our previous colors were extremely pale, dull, and allowed too much light to reflect in the room because of how tall and open it is. I wanted darker colors to bring the room in a bit and make it warmer and cozier without it being TOO dark and depressing. Another reason I opted to go with two tones. I think I accomplished the look I set out for and it feels more personalized now instead of "factory". The after picture honestly doesn't do the paint job justice--it's so much more beautiful in person! You're just gonna have to trust me on that one. I still have to redecorate the walls and I eventually want to add crown molding around the room because it looks bare and needs that added umph. I'll post more pictures later if I get around to it; but for now, it's late so I will bid thee all adieu.
