The reason for doing it alone? Well, Jon is currently in Tampa and won't be back until Friday evening and I didn't want to draw out this project anymore than it needed to be so I took it upon myself to get the loose ends tied up. The stairway leading to the garage still needs to be partially painted so Jon won't feel too left out on all the painting FUN! Other than that though, we will have "home improvement #2" completed! Hm...what should we do next?
"Paintings By Lana"
My big girl was a wonderful helper today! Just look at that paint job--why bother hiring someone, next time our little princess can get the job done for us! She had a blast helping me out and had her own special, miniature roller that she used. I would have had her stand IN the picture but she was indecent at the moment. I left my kids mostly unclothed all day so I wasn't stressing about getting paint on them. I can fix a wall but I can't get paint out of clothing! Kayden is still a baby and that's what babies do--run around in a diaper, so I figured he could stand in for her.

I can't say enough, how much I love this color! I realized half way through there was no before picture but there is a piece of wall still half-way unpainted in "Paintings By Lana". The video of Kayden that I recently took of him in the bath seat shows the hallway, but not in its entirety. Anyway, here is the finished hallway. Not bad considering the circumstances.

Can you tell which room is Lana's? Kayden's is the one in the right hand corner of the picture, and the door between Lana's room and Kayden's room is the bathroom. The other one on the left hand side of the picture is the guest bedroom but that's where Jon and I sleep. It's not a whole lot of fun hauling it up two flights of stairs in the middle of the night when a kiddo is crying or needs help going potty. So, for now, we sleep upstairs in the guest room. Thought I would give you guys somewhat of a virtual tour of our home for those who haven't seen it or for any of you perhaps curious. I'd like to show what's behind all those doors but with all the painting going on, the house is in shambles. So maybe, another day. But guess what that means for me tomorrow? Yeah...housework. Hoor-rah, Hoor-rah.

Wow! I am surprised that it went so well! The paint job is great, and I bet Lana loved to help you!
You are my hero Vanessa!! I could never have taken on such a job with Noah running around. Props to the kiddos too for being obedient!! It looks great!!
Ooooooh, I love it! great paint job
I love that color! You have way more patience with your kids havin their own art work on the wall you were painting. I would have my kids plopped in front of a tv somewhere daring them to even speak to me while I'm trying to paint. Thanks for your good example! I'm getting a lot better at letting my kids do things though. Heck, I even let them unload the dishwasher these days. Only lost one plate so far!
Wow, you painted all day alone with 2 kids, and still had enough energy to make a post about it! You go girl!
I love the color, what is it? I'm looking to repaint my living room. You and Lana did an awesome job!
Looks Amazing! Wish we had our own home to do that to! Looking good!
