The is the backyard of my neighbor's backyard directly across from me. The creek is just beyond the trees. You can my neighbor's on the porch probably wondering what's gonna happen if it keeps flooding up to their basemnt. At least I did.
My neighbors to the side of me. Surely you can see the water rushing through the slats of his fence. The creek is quite a bit back from that fence. This was only the beginning stages of the flooding in his yard. My camera died before I could get the end result before the waters finally receded. I'll just say that the water went all the way up to the doors of his truck and Dave, my neighbor was wading in knee deep water! Luckily, the waters did go down before it flooded his truck and camper. I watched him try to get the truck out to no avail. Unfortuntately they don't have flood insurance and never saw a need for it.
And here's the kicker...two houses down, and at a lower level you have the ENTIRE backyard under water. I'm sure it's a bit tough to really be able to tell what you are looking at unless you have seen our area but I'll tell ya that I saw a couple of things floating by on their lot: a ball, mysterious black object, and a tree branch. Unfortunately for THEM, they are Brasil and probably don't have flood insurance either. I would HATE to see what their basement looks like right now.
Oh blah dee, oh blah da, life goes on.

ohhh....that is crazy! Wow. I've never seen that much rain! Not even in UT!How close do you guys live from the cree? if i remember, its just a little ways from your backyard border right?
Yup, not far back. Luckily, though, it's far enough back to not get to us. It helps that we are just high enough so we aren't flooded.
Man, that sucks for Tati and Jason. I sure hope they don't have a ton of stuff that's ruined. I, too, am glad that we are positioned high enough to not have to worry about our over-flowing creek flooding our house. Just dealing with our dang sunroom leaks. For anyone reading this...NEVER OWN A HOUSE WITH A SUNROOM!!!
lol--wasn't that one of your selling points for buying it?
Yeah well, you live and learn...
NEVER again!
