Keilana's Talent

The primary had a talent show this past Friday and Lana submitted 4 pictures to display as her talent and it truly is! I couldn't believe how she knew what to do just from watching me in the past. She wsa dead set on doing it by herself and did so with very little instruction. You can see for yourself.
I let her use my camera instead of the old point and shoot. She pushed the button half way to let it focus and "beep", then she pressed it all the way to release the shutter. I asked her to get a close up shot on these flowers above, and before I could show her to grab the lense, she said, "oh, I gotta zoom", and reached for the lense to move in closer. I was pretty impressed. I showed her how to angle, and again, before I could show her, she tilted the camera just a bit and clicked. So this is her work, with very little instruction from me, and her choice of photography...minus the red flowers growing up the porch, I just suggested it.
Her display.
The stage.
When the announcer mentioned her name, and her talent, Keilana VERY willingly went up front to talk abou it. Jon I were in shock! Our little shy girl is turning out to be outgoing after all. We were so pleased she went up and talked about her pictures she took. It was cute. She said, "I took pictures of flowers and more flowers."
Her "Shining Star Certificate". She was proud!
Thanks to Jon, here is one for all of you folks that are dying to see a picture of me for a change. Not the best, but will do.

Cute! I don't know why, but I would have never thought of displaying photographs in a children's talent show. Our ward is having (or already had) one and I didn't even consider that for Tyler. But it's definitely something he loves as well!
