Probably Too Much Sun

This week, we went swimming swimming 5 days! That's why I titled this blog too much sun. The post before was day 2. I screwed up and burnt my shoulders and part of my upper back to a crisp. That was day one so no good for me the rest of the week. In fact, it was so bad, Jon found little water blisters all over my back and shoulders. He described it as a smaller scale bubble wrap. That is the worst that I have ever been sunburned and that is certainly the last! From now on, I am loading up on the 75+ SPF sun screen, head to toe. The same as last summer, we do a lot of swimming so be prepared for quite a few posts with pool pictures, sorry. Today, day 5, was special because Daddy joined us!!!

Day 4:

Day 4 brought on a nice little insect bite for Kayden and the begining of a really bad cold for Keilana.

Practice makes perfect.

Lana has discovered she can touch the bottom and walk in the shallow end of the pool.

Day 5:

Friday evening, after realizing that Kayden's ear was getting worse and Keliana's throat was hurting coupled with a bad cough, we took both kids to after house urgent care. Have you ever seen the movie Hitch? The scene where he is eating shellfish that begins an allergic reaction and his ear swells up all big and puffy? Well, that's what Kayden's ear reminded me of--not THAT bad but certainly close. With one dose of a prescribed antihystamine and some antibiotics for the infection, his ear was back to normal the next day. I meant to take a picture of it but failed to remember to do so. I'm a little upset about that one--his ear was ridiculously swollen.

Turns out, Keilana just had another "virus". This cold virus was different than any she has had prior. This particular one came with a fever, sore throat, a whooping type cough (not a barking cough), and stomach pains. Oddly enough, she had enough energy to go swimming and was very persistant no matter how many times we tried to explain that it would be best she stayed at home and rested. She's a little fish and is getting SO good at swimming and being brave enough to jump off the diving board mulitple times!

Coming up for air.

He loved riding on the boogie board.

Time out, right at the end of the day. :(

What a cute time-out picture of Kayden! :) I'm glad Lana is getting so brave in the pool now. It's great her and Tyler can touch in the shallow end now! It seems that made all the difference to her!
