Birthday Boy

Our original plan was to celebrate Kayden's birthday with all immediate family present but Keilana got sick with a fever that afternoon. Jon and I decided to celebrate it with just the four of us. It was actually a very good evening and we all enjoyed each other's company and had fun as a family. Of course I took MORE than enough pictures so this is my attempt to narrow it down. Is 20 too much to document our baby's 2nd birthday?

BIRTHDAY DINNER

Kayden with his birthday dinner.

You can tell that Keilana was not feeling well at all. This is the way she looked in just about all the pictures I took that night. Usually she can eat 2 pieces of pizza but this night she didn't even eat 1/2 of one. Poor girly.

How can I NOT post this picture?

Or this one?!

Or this one?! He's just so darn cute that I can't resist adding this one to the collection.

SINGING and CANDLES

Kayden telling Daddy to light the candles.

Jon thought it was cute and funny.

Singing and "making a wish", ready to blow out his candles.

One down, one to go. He is very good at blowing out the candles and did so without spitting all over his green rice krispy treat cupcake.

BIRTHDAY PRESENTS

What could it be?

Cars bath set, compelete with Gel, bubble bath, and body wash.

On to number two. I can't believe how much of a little boy he looks like in this picture. My how time flies.

Eagerly pulling out the tissue paper.

He had a hard time pulling the gift out of the bag so big sister came to the rescue and was anxious to help out. She really is a good sister to him.

Another bath toy--Disney Cars Floating Art Center. Two of his three presents from Mama, Daddy and Keilana.

ENJOYING THE GIFTS

Keilana got the Disney Princess Floating Art Center for her birthday. They were entertained for at least 30 minutes with these until they started wanting to get out because the bath water got cold.

BIG BOY BED!

Around 2 years of age our children seem to be aware that they are a big kid now and become disinterested in sleeping in a crib. So for their second birthdays we change their cribs into toddler beds. Kayden didn't use his crib too much. For the first 6 months he used the cradle, from there he either slept in the pack 'n play or with us. This past year has slept with Lana a lot so what was the use in keeping the crib up? So, here is Kayden's new big boy bed!

His first night sleeping in his bed.

Okay, so it took us a minute to figure out what kind of cupcake Kayden had. Tyler was all, "What kind of cupcake is THAT?!" I think it was the green that threw us off. Pretty clever though! I'm sure they were yummy.
Poor Lana, she looked miserable. I'm glad it didn't last very long for her sake and yours!
Super cute pictures of Kayden enjoying his day. You guys certainly made it special for him!
