Things Keilana Said or Did...

  • A cute story that happened this past Sunday (1/18). Lana was suppose to be in Primary but for some reason she wasn't feeling it. So I brought her in Nursery with us after several attempts in getting her to stay put. She played for about 10 minutes in Nursery when I realized, why make it fun for her, she'll want to continue to come back each Sunday and will not want to stay in primary. So I had her sit down and wouldn't allow her to play with the other children, or the toys. A little girl, Brynn, that is in nursery and is in the Preschool class Lana used to attend was enjoying her time with Keilana until I sat her down. Lana was whining to get up and wanted to play and I informed her that if she wanted to get up she could go back to Primary and that Nursery was for the babies. I continued to explain that Primary is for big girls and it's more fun singing and being in there with the other children then sitting down. All of a sudden, Brynn started crying! I asked her what was wrong and she said, "I don't want Lana to go to Primary!" It was SO cute.

  • A couple of months back Keilana was sitting on the toilet and she was telling me that she needed to drink more water. The conversation went something like this:
Keilana: I need to drink more water.
Mama: Why is that? Does it hurt?
Keilana: Yes. It does; but, I just need to drink more water so that my poopies don't hurt anymore and that's my talk about that.

  • One morning, too early, the kids came in my room and got into bed with me. They fell back asleep but I was having a hard time because they were pushing, shoving, and kicking me out of their way. I went to lay in Keilana's bed but not much later they BOTH woke up and started looking for me. They called out for me but I never answered. I wanted to see how they would react if they thought Mama was not there. They looked all over the house, on all 3 levels but never in Keilana's room. At first Lana started to cry and then all of a sudden she changed, and taking charge, she grabbed Kayden's hand and this is what she said as she led him to his room:
Keilana: Kayden, Mama isn't here. But it's okay, we just have to wait for her to get back. Let's go in here and wait for Mama to get home.
At first I was sad that she thought I had left her at home alone. Then I realized how maturely she handled the situation. I was very impressed that she didn't flip out and that she kept her cool and took care of her brother. I'm VERY proud of her.

If you have a funny or cute story of Keilana that you remember, please post it here in breif so I can take note of it for her journal.

So the story of her taking care of Kayden while you were "gone" is precious...just about had me in tears! What a sweet girl she is! And then "that's my talk about that"...flippin' hillarious! We'll just call her Lana Gump. :)

Lol to Wendy's post! Kids say the darndest things! Some would say it's cruel to play tricks on our children, but I've tested all my kids like that. Mine never cried either. I was a little dissapointed! So cute how Lana handled the situation, I can just see her comforting Kaden, too adorable.

haha to wendy! Those are cute stories! when you guys were visiting in UT for our wedding, we were all chillin in the kitchen vegging. Lana asked Daddy if she could have a PBJ sandwich, daddy said yes but lana insisted on arguing with him so she said "but i really want one.' jon said "i know lana, and i said you can!" she says, "i know but i really want one!" back and forth, it was like that for at least a minute! Josh and i crack up about that....truly a quan trait! (arguing until we are right)hahah!

Keilana, You are such a hoot!!! Funny stories and "melt your heart" stories. That's my sweet Keilana--the "little mother" that you are. You make Nanny proud :) Your young motherly instincts kicked in and you made Kayden feel safe and secure. I LOVE you and Kayden! (I'm still trying to come up with a cute and/or funny story of Keilana. I know there are many, I just have to think of one.) Love, Nanny
