We had a great New Year celebration! Between the 6 of us couples, we had 9 kids there to help us bring down the house. The ages ranged from 1 year to 7 years! Even though we had 9 kids at the age of 7 and under, they all got along great and we didn't have to referee too often. We started the night off around 8pm and didn't pack it up until 4 am! Yup, we are some die hard partiers. In reality, none of us had stayed up that late in years and couldn't believe that we had done so. We ALL paid for it the next morning when the kids started waking up before 8am.
The Couples!
The Norths: Wild and Carefree.
The Beginning! Armed with our 5 hour energy drinks we were gearing up and getting pumped for a long night ahead of us! Equipped with an array of food and snack to satisfy the munchies all night, we were ready to get the party started. The contributions were: 7 layer dip, beer bread and dip, chips, veggie tray, fruit, Neman Marcus cookies, Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake, and a mile high brownie pie.
And the 5 Hours kick in!!
The MIDDLE
Still going strong around 10 pm but MOST of the kids were already asleep by this time or well on their way out. Of course our two were still wide awake and in on the excitement. We spent the middle portion of our night on the Wii, in particular bowling.

I told you they were crazy!

Hard core bowler right there.

And the final score for round one of bowling. From left to right we have Melanie, Gregg, Jon, and Me. For some reason I lost every round but I got to play longer since I needed the "practice".
The END
After a few bowling tournaments and 1am, we decided to play some games. We all slowly lost interest in anything we were doing and at 3:30 am decided to pack it up. Of course ALL the kids were asleep by that time so warming up the car, loading the car with all the leftover food and sleeping kids took an extra 30 minutes.

Just after a LONG game of Battle of the Sexes. Never again for me. Can they not get anymore creative with the questions? Everything is about sports for the men. Sheesh.

Is he REALLY asleep or is he faking it? In any event Jen should probably have santized the counter.

Again, why am I awake at 4 am?

Our kids were the final kiddies to go and I'm not surprised. Keilana was the absolute last when she finally hit the sack at 2 am! Some call it insane, I think she was a trooper!

Kayden was second to last to go at around midnight. We had to get creative in finding places for 9 kids to sleep in a 4 bedroom home. But we did it!!
And there you have it.
Happy New Year, 2009!
