Kayden had SUCH a rough day today. Poor little guy could hardly eat, drink, sleep--I felt awful for him!! He tried to eat a PB&J sandwich but with each little bite he would just cry the whole time. I think he ate a total of 4 bites before I decided to give him yogurt instead. By bed time he was so tired having cat napped all day. Those who have had a canker-like sore in your mouth know that at night and when you sleep/wake up is the worst! So I dosed him up with Tylenol and Benadryl before putting him to bed. After about 20 minutes I went to check on him and he was passed out cold. I had to post this picture because he looks like such a big boy sleeping on a pillow, which, I am finding out that he prefers to have one than to not. And yes, he is sleeping in my bed, both kids are! I like for them to be close when they are sick and since Jon is away (shortly to return and the reason for doing so much blogging!) there is plenty of room. =) Alas, it is almost 3am and no sleep for me yet. The kids are taking turns waking up. Bless his heart, Kayden woke up screaming, wouldn't close his mouth and was drooling so bad. Keilana is waking up whining as she coughs & swallows carefully. I feel helpless at this point and wish that I could take away their pain. I've never had a good use for baby Orajel--until now! In fact, I had lost it and was looking for it all day, almost tearing the kitchen apart. I just remembered very quickly where it was, after saying a silent prayer in my mind asking for help, that I might find a way to comfort the kids. It numbed the pain long enough for them to fall back asleep. What would I do without my Heavenly Father?
I'm so in love with this little guy!

Me too!!! I'm so sad that he and Keilana are not feeling well and happy as they always are :( I love the music and all the sweet stories and pictures and videos. I love you all so very much. You all are my life and I thank Heavenly Father for you and the special memories that are ours. Keilana and Kayden bring so much joy and happiness to our lives. I am thankful for you and Jon for being such wonderful parents. (I will call today to see how our little peanut and princess are doing.) I love you sweeties. So sorry Ness and kids. It must be the summer bug going around because my kids all have fevers too. My kids pray for their cousins daily so hopefully yours will feel better soon! Luvs!
OOOhhh poor monkey and lana! I feel bad, just makes you wish that a kiss really would take it all away!
Just an FYI...I AM NOT YET 30!!! Why are you aging me??? Ok, now back to your post...your POOR kids! All our kids had something similar earlier this year. Colton had it the worst. Blisters and cankers all down his throat and all over his mouth. So sad! Something you might try... have them "swish" their mouths with Mylanta. Our doctor told us to do this, but Colton was too young to understand. I guess it coats their throat a little and helps with the pain. Just a thought! Wishing you a good night's sleep!
