After 3 weeks of travel and home on the weekends, Daddy is home to stay. Well, at least for a little while! Next stop...Belgium, just don't know when yet. The kids are enjoying him home and playing catch up. I am also enjoying him home, even though it was nice to have the car all to myself. The traveling has been quite the adjustment for both of us, especially me--I don't do too well with change. It's been a little bit of stress for me and Jon but nothing we can't conquer.
So my baby has finally transitioned to a big boy seat and he loves it! He absolutely enjoys the fact that he can see where we are going rather than where we have been! When the windows are down,
Keilana and
Kayden will flap their arms and laugh at the wind blowing in their face. So cute to watch.
Kayden is getting better and better at walking and in the last couple of days has switched more to walking than crawling. In some of his pictures you may have noticed his thumbs taped. Well, that is my feeble attempt of trying to stop him from sucking them. However, to my dismay he has now switched to ALL fingers and thus, I am taping up all fingers now. Very time consuming and a little annoying, not to mention the fact that he is now sucking on his thumbs WITH the tape.

Plan B--Switch him to the pacy. Never my intention for the simple fact that I am breaking a habit and forming a new habit to break. What's the point? Well, I believe that a pacy isn't as bad as sucking on thumbs and won't mess up teeth to the extent that a thumb will. Plus, once he is prefers the pacy, it'll be easier to take that away. There is a very funny lady at my church, who is southern through and through and I adore her. She has the greatest accent! We're in nursery together and I was telling her about
Kayden's thumb sucking and how I was trying to get him to stop. Her reply was, "oh
hunny, you're gonna have to cut those things off!" She continued to tell me that there is a group in
SLC for adults who can't stop sucking their thumbs. So instead of Alcoholics Anonymous it's Thumb Suckers Anonymous. Weird but whatever works. Simply put...that is not going to my kid, not if I have anything to do with it. Fortunately for me, and himself, he took to the pacy like a duck to water! He'll still suck his thumb if he loses his pacy but apparently he still has a huge need to suck and I know it won't last forever.
Kayden is also coming into his boyhood--so active, throwing
EVERY thing, climbing ON every thing, goes like the energizer bunny, and eats like a pig! Yesterday during sacrament Jon and I were having to tag team with him because he was wearing us out. Jumping up and down in our laps,
fidgety, wanting up on the bench with us then down to move around, yikes! Jon finally took him out to the foyer for just a few minutes to get a little energy out. He's still a
cuddle bug though, and I hope that doesn't change!
Keilana's eye has almost completely healed, there is still a little bit of the cut left on her cheek.

This picture is actually from last week so it looks better now. This is just such a cute picture I wanted to post it. Anyway, Lana is turning into quite the little lady as she has started to show a preference in wearing a dress every single day. That's fine and dandy but too bad I only have 3 dresses to rotate through. I wish I would have known this before buying her summer wardrobe. Some days I have to be sneaky and persuade her in wearing
capris or shorts instead.
As most of you probably know we have been using only one car for the last year or more. Well, it's about that time to start the process of finding a new car--well, not new, probably around a 2000-2003 depending on what we can find within our budget. I just don't want to get in to too much into debt while the economy is in such a poor standing. There is some other things that we'll have to take care of first but we are starting to save for that!

Good thing you're doing with the thumb sucking. I sucked mine until I was like 10 and my teeth are so jacked up.. they are small and gapped. I hate it! Even braces didn't fix it. I was just stubborn though and didn't want to stop. Sad huh?
How funny! That makes me laugh that the tape thing backfired on you! Boys are so stubborn! Poor you, it's hard to be the Mommy and try to do what's best for your child.
