It's been very busy for me the last 2-3 weeks. As I take more pictures and post them (I just did a shoot of my sister's family--see my photo blog for those if you haven't already), more people are inquiring about my services. I now have 6 bookings, and 3 more possible clients. It's ridiculous how quickly this took off for me; but, I'm certainly not complaining. I have finally found my passion, something I enjoy doing--I finally know what I want to be when I grow up! (Not a moment too soon, if you ask me.)
By nature, we are our own worst critics, and I know that my pictures can improve leaps and bounds; but the compliments and praises for my work are overwhelming. I read several websites online to expand my knowledge since school isn't an option for me right now. I also spend quite a bit of time browsing photographer's websites and blogs whom I admire their work so that my composition and artistic abilities can improve. It's almost the same thing as going to school, right? I'm just not receiving the benefits of a classroom setting that I would be, BUT...I'm also saving money!
Since the requests for my services keep coming in, I have had to set up pricing and get somewhat organized. I pray that it doesn't slow down but that it is the beginning of something great for me. I thank Heavenly Father for blessing me with this talent and helping me to find my way to it as well as providing a way to acquire the equipment that I use. If it weren't for Him, my wonderful husband who supports me, my children as my enduring and patient subjects, and all of my other family members who have more faith in me than I do in myself, my dreams would not be coming true.

You go girl! Work that camera!!!
That's awesome Vanessa! I think all the studying your are doing outside of the "classroom" can sometimes be even more beneficial for you and you are saving money...what could be better than that?
