From: Keilana, Kayden & Mama
Here is our adventures from today Daddy. Mama has been trying to do a lot with us lately--I like spending time with her, we have so much fun but wish you could be with us. We love and miss you and can't wait to see you in a week. Please leave us a note so we know you saw what we did today.
Love,
Us
I decided to take Keilana to the library for the first time today, and my first time in 5 years mind you. At first she didn't want to go even though I explained what it was several times. She just couldn't visualize the rows and rows of books for her to read that I had described. Well, once we got inside she responded with, "Wow! These are my books! There's lots of books!" and she started grabbing a few. It was a hard decision but we came home with 5 she had chosen. Kayden wasn't so much interested in the books but rather hiding and running in between the book shelves. That kid has so much stamina it's ridiculous, he has relentless energy!
Her first visual of the "rows and rows of books" that I was trying to explain to her.
Her first book that she pulled off the shelf which is very cute and funny by the way. It's called Piggies In A Polka.
Monkey about to pull a book from the shelf.
Enjoying their books that they picked out. Kayden was actually a little excited to be in a new place and didn't sit for very long.
After receiving a library card and checking out our books, we made our way over to the park just down the street to play for a bit before going home for dinner. Lana made LOTS of new friends and this little boy, Luke, who was 6 years old, was all over Lana wanting her to follow him, go down the slide with him, and following HER wherever she went. I wanted to get a picture of it but I didn't know if his mom would freak out, so I played it safe and passed. It was so cute though!
Beeping the horn
Taking a break. Being chased by a boy is hard work, don't kid yourself.
A funny story that happened to me while at the park. I was standing next to the big twirly slide watching Kayden so he wouldn't fall and I look down and see this little girl standing next to me with a piece of paper in her hands, looking at me. She asked me if I could read it to her, which turns out to be her homework from kindergarten. I look over at her mom and seeing that they are Hispanic, realize that Mom doesn't know any English and the little girl needs help understanding what her homework is. The little girl was very sharp and spoke GREAT English. Her homework was to find pictures (from a magazine) that started with the letter M, glue them to the paper and label them. I asked her if she knew what sound the letter M made and she replied, "mm". I proceeded to ask her if she knew any words that started with the letter M, and she called off mouse and muffin. It seemed she knew her stuff and that we had a good start. With broken English from her mom and broken Spanish, or Spanglish rather, from myself, I was able to describe to mom what the little girl needed to do. There were SO many moms there, like 6 adults total, and I found it a little funny that either the mom or the little girl chose me. Maybe I should feel honored? Maybe she thought I looked Hispanic and took a chance that I might know Spanish. Who knows but it all worked out and mom went home knowing how to help her little girl. I know, I know, kudos to me, I did a good deed. *grin*
We got home, ate some dinner and then headed back out for a nice walk in the neighborhood with Bo and Riley (I'm dog sitting for my sister). Needless to say, the kids were wiped out and ready for bed around 8:00pm but stayed up a little longer to chat with Daddy; who, is away on business in Tampa but heading over to Key West tomorrow with his co-workers, I might add. Such a rough life, ya know? So this post is for him!

To my dearest family,
Thank you so much for sharing with me your wonderful day. I wish I could have been there reading books along side of you and having fun. Or even, hanging from the jungle gym at the playground. I must be the luckiest Daddy in the world! I love you all and miss you very much.
Love,
Daddy
