Cool for School

Lana started her first day of preschool on Wednesday! She goes MWF for 2.5 hours. Monday was the meet and greet so she could familiarize herself with the "classroom" and her classmates. Her teacher is actually in my ward, this is how signing her up for preschool came to pass, otherwise, I doubt we would have done so this year.

I was excited to go out shopping for her school supplies, even though she couldn't be with me. She wanted to go with her Nanny to spend the night but she was quite pleased with what I had chosen. We went out a month and a half before and just looked at backpacks and she had picked out one very similar to this. Unfortunately, the toddler backpacks aren't equipped with enough space for folders and other school needs; and the youth backpacks, well, as you can see, are too large for a pre-schooler. At least there is plenty of room to spare.

Her first day started out rocky, but ended well. I had to leave her crying but Mrs. Melanie said that she did so for about 5-10 minutes and was over it after that. They learned about their bodies and she came home with a paper she had drew of herself I presume and another one that she had traced the letters of her name. She was in such a great mood when I came to pick her up and I asked her if she wanted to come back and her reply was, "yes! I like school. School is fun." Thumbs up Mrs. Melanie! =)

We took Jon to the van pool which means we all have to get up at 6am. This was taken at 8:55am. Both kids were completely wiped out and are still adjusting to the schedule. Keilana had JUST fallen asleep 10 minutes before arriving to school. At least it was enough of a cat nap to get her through her day.

Excited to get started even though she had just awoken from her nap. Her excitement soon faded upon realizing Mama would be leaving. That girl has got a very strong grip!!!

She loved her princess backpack, even though it's half her size, but still cute nonetheless. There's Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Belle, and can anyone tell who the fourth princess is?!!

Part of her classroom and 4 (including Keilana) out of the six kids that are in her class.
