Today we went swimming in an awesome pool--salt water and much better than chlorine. It was also Keilana's first OFFICIAL swim in a body of water. Last summer she wouldn't leave the stairs of the pool and just last week she wouldn't leave the shore of the lake at the cabin. Today I told her that she was going to be a brave girl and swim all by herself; that her floaties will keep her safe. And she DID! She did great! Of course with a little hesitance and whining but I am so proud of her for getting out there and swimming for 2 1/2 hours all by herself. To top it off she wants to go back for more tomorrow. My memory card got full so i'll take more pictures and a better video tomorrow of her swimming. And excuse my annoying praises in the video--I was very excited that Keilana was doing this by herself. Only those who truly understand her know what a great leap of bravery it took to accomplish this. Kayden had fun himself. He just chilled in his raft and towards the end, I was throwing him in the air, letting him go under water, then quickly bringing him back up. He seemed to enjoy it and didn't choke or cough when he came up from under the water. I just want him to be okay with water in his face and going under so that he isn't afraid; especially since I love swimming!
My sister told me of this lady that she heard of that can get children to swim independantely in 3 days. Just 3 days! Even children who are terrified of the water. From what she understands is that this lady is pretty tough and doesn't take any whining or crying. It's about an hour for 3 days. So we're going to give that a go and maybe i'll have myself a little mermaid by tje end of summer. Here she is doing her thing. It was at the beginning of the swim and she was just getting used to going out by herself. Towards the end of the time there she wasn't whining and was laughing and smiling!
The other video is a special treat of Kayden's cute ways of answering questions and also grazing on an egg salad sandwich. Also, enjoy the video of Tyler's splash down.

FYI - I emailed the girl about the swimming lessons. I'll let you know what I find out!
So cute! I love the video of your little boy! What a cutie! I have been trying to take Kennedy swimming a couple times a week so she isn't afraid of the water. I haven't done any swim lessons though. I probably should.
Bria almost peed in her pants when she saw the slide video! I don't think she was expecting that. Glad you liked the pics on our blog. Btw, I was "good with 2" also. Sometimes pregnancy happens when it's least expected:)

Fun pix and videos! Claire is in the middle of swim lessons and we're trying to convince her to go under! That woman who can do it in 3 days sounds interesting! Looks like a ton of fun.
