Okay, this has been absolutely the unluckiest month for us, ailment wise. It ALL started with those darn buggies that it took nearly 2 weeks & a boat load of laundry to rid ourselves of. Shortly after, Kayden got a fever, who knows what that was. Oh wait...a virus. Of course! He recuperated from the fever but Keilana shortly followed suit and became sick herself with a fever and a rash that lasted about 3-4 days. Kayden got thrush, and, well, apparently I was feeling left out and came down with strep throat! What a mess, I'm rethinking that whole bubble thing. So the only current healthy one is our breadwinner, Jon, and it better stay that way! Keilana is doing okay for now, knock on wood, and hopefully, since Kayden and I are on antibiotics we will all be well soon! Wish me luck!
I am also speculating that Keilana could possibly have a milk allergy! My good friend, bless her heart, has a son who is allergic to almost everything under the sun. Her allergist told her that eczema is an allergic reaction to something. Well, we've struggled with that in Keilana since I can remember, not serious but mild condition of it. About a week ago, I was helping her to go potty and noticed that 1/2 her bum bum, and her right leg, was ripped to shreds from her scratching it so much. Three days ago (we were back in N. Carolina) my family and I noticed that she was scratching uncontrollably once again, particularly a place on her arm that was round and a little bumpy. My mom suggested that it could be a milk allergy? She had had a bowl of cereal for breakfast and some yogurt before the itching occurred (1+1=2). Hmmm...never thought of that!! I have taken her off all dairy products and we haven't had an episode yet. Plus, the little bumpy place on her arm has gone away. Coincidence? Doubtful. So, for now, I'm experimenting on things like cheese and dairy prodcuts to see how she reacts to it. Poor Lana.
So I had an interesting adventure when I took Bo (our dear ole' poodle) to the vet. We've neglected to that for the past 3 years. It was a place in Tenn., a place not far from where we stay in North Carolina. It was like a flipping zoo in there and had quite the unpleasant smell. There was no organization whatsoever in there but everyone was extremely friendly and helpful! Not to mention totally inexpensive!! I probably would have spent 3x more here at home. So I'm okay with the zoo as Bobo's vet. Bo was updated on all his vaccinations, given some antibiotics for his ear infections and Doc put him on phenobarbital for his seizures. He's had them since we got him from his original owner, but not until recently have they worsened.
I don't think that I have had such a month since I've had two kids. Right now, we are all quarantined--no one comes in and no one is going out until everyone is well again.
