Lana's Hair Cut

Her first time cutting her own hair, and hopefully the last. She wasn't too happy about the end results. Se is a very independent child and this time she took that independance a little too far. A ponytail holder was stuck in her hair so she took it upon herself to get it out. I have to say, it could have been worse! Oddly, the place where her ponytail was located was in a completely different spot than where she cut. This is indeed old news, and even done before we left for Utah but I still wanted to blog about it. Thanks to my friend Melanie for cutting her hair and making it doable until it grows out.

This is a disappointed and upset face. She didn't like the fact she had to have bangs and that they were hanging in her face. What else were we to do about it? It's growing out fast and I am hoping by the new school year they will be grown out enough but I think it's going to take a couple of years to be just right. Perhaps a new hair style will be in order by next year. A bob even? That would be super cute on her!

Keilana sweetie, Nanny sure likes that sweet, smiling face in the first picture where you cut your own hair than the last picture where you look so sad 'cause you had to get bangs cut :( But hey, what a cute change for our little princess. I really liked your new do. (But just between you and me I like your beautiful long hair the mostess :) Keep smiling--I think you're over that sad face and the reason behind it. I sure do LOVE you sweet girl. See ya soon--Saturday at Tyler's birthday party. LOVE, Nanny

I LOVE her hair shorter. I think it totally suits her. Or maybe it's the bangs. Either way, I think it's adorable. It cracks me up that her and Tyler both experimented on their hair for the first time at relatively the SAME time. Those two should have been siblings I think.

Poor girl. I'll bet she comes to you for help with her hair ties in the future. Growing up with a mother that is a hairstylist we were all terrified to experiment on our own hair from birth. I saw many a child and their parents come to her for help though, with bubblegum, experiments, and everything in-between!
