April Showers

This is a duplicate of my photography blog but I don't know if EVERYONE goes there ALL the time. It's a rainy day, good for staying home, lounging and doing a LITTLE (note the bold on little) bit of work around the house. I asked the kids to fetch (I didn't give them a doggy biscuit, BTW) the recycling bin that was out by the street so we could put our recent recycling items in there. To give them a bit of fun motivation, I grabbed their umbrellas and handed it to them--it's always a good time when the kids can use their umbrellas. I couldn't resist, I quickly ran up 3 flights of stairs to retrive my camera and it was worth the distraction from house work!
Not too many boys can pull off Spider-Man pants, flip-flops and a frog costume and still look this good. What a stud!

I've been following this lady's blog for a while now, since her second daughter was born. She is a photographer as well (Who isn't these days? Grab a DSLR and call yourself a photographer.). Her name is Kelle Hampton and she actually is a pretty good photographer, in my opinion; but, what credentials do I have to say whether she is talented or not? I believe she is. Art is art and you have to have the eye for it whether it is painting, clay molding videography or photography.  For all I know, many could be saying that I suck and shouldn't be calling myself a photographer and who am I to charge $250 a seesion. Oh well. To each his own and such is life.

Kelle gave birth to little Nella, who surprisingly to everyone, was born with Down Syndrome. She has written about her feelings and journey of this new lifestyle that she wasn't prepared to venture on. Along with talent as a photographer, she is an amazing writer. The story will set you to tears, grab a tissue. A good place to start is here, Nella's Birth Story. She has been on talk shows, she has been featured in articles, been guests on other various blogs, and aired on the radio through her moving and inspiring story.

This one specific blog featured her as a guest and this was Kelle's story she responded with. I can totally relate to it as any parent can. The pictures that go along with really brings the story to life as you can see yourself in that same or similar situation. In fact, Jon and I were just at Walmart last night doing our own food shopping and we both celebrated when we realized that we had stayed within our budget for the month. It is the small things that help you enjoy life, such as watching your children play and dance in the rain. Its those times that get you from one happy moment to the next. That is exactly the message that Kelle sends to her readers. It's titled, "Grocery Store Vacation".

One of my favorite movie quotes is in Just Married when Mr. Leezak is explaining to his son that life and marriage isn't easy.

"Some days your mother and me loved each other. Other days we had to work at it. You never see the hard days in a photo album... but those are the ones that get you from one happy snapshot to the next."
